WHITLOCK TO PERFORM AT iPRO SPORT WORLD CUP OF GYMNASTICS

Matchroom Sport are pleased to announce double Olympic Champion Max Whitlock MBE will perform two routines during each session of the iPro Sport World Cup of Gymnastics at The O2, London on Saturday, April 8.

Whitlock is targeting a return to action at the 2017 World Championships and as part of his preparation will perform exciting new floor and pommel routines during both sessions of the iPro Sport World Cup of Gymnastics.

“I am really excited to be involved in the iPro Sport World Cup of Gymnastics,” said Whitlock. “With the other acts coming in it will be different from every other competition making it more of a show and exciting to watch.

“I am excited to see the British guys compete. I train in the same gym as Amy Tinkler and Brinn Bevan and they are looking fantastic.”

Gaius Thompson and Reiss Beckford, Whitlock’s South Essex Gym Club gym-mates, will also be performing at the event in an exciting ‘Gymnastics Battle’.

Britain’s Got Talent stars Boogie Storm are set to bring their unique act to The O2, performing their crushing dance routines during both sessions. Reigning BCA National Champions Unity Allstars Ruby cheerleading team will also dazzle the crowd, with further acts to be announced.

The iPro Sport World Cup of Gymnastics sees the world’s best gymnasts invited to compete in the prestigious ‘all-around’ competition. The British gymnasts aiming to wow the home crowd will be Amy Tinkler, Ellie Downie, Sam Oldham and Brinn Bevan, who have 14 competition medals between them.

The iPro Sport World Cup of Gymnastics will feature nine male and nine female gymnasts including Ukraine’s Oleg Verniaiev the parallel bars Olympic Champion and 16-year-old Russian sensation Angelina Melinikova, the 2016 Rio Olympic Games team silver medallist. The women will compete in the afternoon on vault, uneven bars, beam and floor, while the men will compete in the evening over six testing apparatus (floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and the high bar).

Tickets for the World Cup of Gymnastics are on sale now with limited tickets remaining. Prices start from £30 per session, with family tickets for the whole day available from £99.
